Final preparations are in full swing for the 2026 Montana Healthcare Conference, which begins on Tuesday in Billings. It’s always a busy and exciting time for all of us at the MHA as we get ready to welcome you to this annual meeting.

As you begin your prep and start your travels to Billings, here’s a couple things to know ahead of Conference kickoff:

The Northern Hotel and DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Billings will host the conference once again this year. When you arrive, stop by Conference Registration at either hotel to pick up your name badge and conference materials.

Don’t forget to download the MHC Mobile App. Using the app, you can view the agenda, manage your schedule, access session materials, explore exhibitors and sponsors, and receive conference updates. During conference, you’ll use the app fro session check-in and to secure education credits.

Outside of breakout sessions, you won’t want to miss our three keynotes who will take the main stage on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday during the Conference General Sessions. On Wednesday, Oct. 7, we’ll announced the 2026 winners of the Montana Healthcare Awards, which is an annual highlight that is sure to lift spirits. Two other events I hope you won’t miss:  The Chairman’s Welcome Reception on Tuesday, Oct. 6, from 5-6:30 p.m. in the Northern Hotel Ballroom, as well as the Trade Show & Exhibitor Reception on Wednesday, Oct. 7, which will take place at the DoubleTree, 3rd Floor Trade Show from 12 to 6 pm. The Exhibitor Reception runs from 4:30–6 pm.

We are looking forward to seeing you there.

Another important notice: There is an RHTP average daily census data collection deadline fast approaching. Data for Q1, Q2, and Q3 of CY 2026 is due to DPHHS on November 1.

As you know, DPHHS is collecting average daily census data from all Critical Access Hospitals and PPS hospitals. This data is reported to CMS to help establish baselines for the life of the RHTP program (this request is entirely separate from Center of Excellence data sharing requests).

It’s safe to say that submitting your data is vitally important. Collective participation will help ensure Montana can maximize RHTP funding over the next five years—not reporting puts funding at risk. We strongly encourage all facilities to submit the data.

Emails sharing the full submission details and links were sent from MHA staff this week. You can also find that information at mtha.org/RHTP. If you have questions, please reach out to casey.driscoll@mtha.org or call 406-457-8000.

Thank you, once again, for your work on this effort.
