Education and Events Coordinator

MHA is seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Education and Events Coordinator to join our team and support the planning, promotion, and execution of educational programs, conferences, and member development activities. This role plays a vital part in advancing our mission through high-quality events and educational offerings for our members and partners across the healthcare sector.

Key Responsibilities:

Education and Events Coordination 

  • Coordinates educational offerings and other events
  • Coordinates trade show events
  • Coordinates logistics for conference speakers
  • Coordinates distance learning webinars
  • Assists with venue logistics as directed by the Director of Education & Events.
  • Assists the Director of Education & Events with the MHA Board Education and Member Development Committee
  • Organize post-event closeout as directed, including sending evaluations and certificates, and budget reconciliation
  • Verify and process invoices and expense reports
  • Provide marketing, logistics, and tracking support for any state or federal contract activities
  • On occasion, provide backup for the administrative pool, answering calls and greeting visitors
  • Performs other duties as assigned by the Director of Education & Events, the President, or their designee as appropriate and pertinent to the role in the organization
  • Work well under various time constraints, in a complex work environment that is rapidly changing as a result of the dynamic healthcare environment

Marketing & Communications

  • Management and oversight of event management database and related association distribution lists
  • Develop marketing flyers and brochures
  • Prepare and process various communications and correspondence for distribution following MHA’s style. Compose correspondence, minutes, and other materials as requested
  • Promotes and markets the careLearning and Home Health, and Hospice education programs
  • Takes the lead on meeting logistics for the Education & Member Development Committee
  • Answer routine inquiries by telephone and exercise good judgment in relaying inquiries to others when appropriate
  • Exercise independent judgment and professionalism when dealing with speakers, hotels, etc., and when staffing a meeting or seminar

Measurement & Analytics 

  • Creates, collects/compiles evaluations for educational offerings
  • Collects and researches data. Designs workflows and procedures
  • Anticipates the needs of members through surveys and research of strategies to enhance the value of events and overall membership

Requirements

  • A bachelor’s degree in meeting and event management, hospitality, or a related field with at least two (2) years of experience in meeting/event planning, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience with personal computer hardware and software, including Microsoft-based word processing, electronic communication, desktop publishing, spreadsheets, graphic design (Canva, Adobe Creative Suite), AV equipment, internet, and database software is required.

Preferred

  • One to two years of sales experience is preferred.

Salary Description

$22.00-$27.00 per hour/ $45,760-$56,160
